Bickleton girls lose to Trout Lake

TROUT LAKE - The Lady Pirates were blanked by the Trout Lake-Glenwood Mustangs Friday, Sept. 23.

Bickleton's volleyball team lost the match in three games against Trout Lake-Glenwood.

The match began with a 25-23 win for Trout Lake. The second and third games mirrored with scores of 25-17 and 25-15.

Providing the most assists for Bickleton throughout the match was sophomore Haley Goodnight with seven. The Lady Pirate was also 5-for-6 at the service line. Sophomore Jamie Venema was 5-for-6 from the service line and provided six kills and two blocks. Senior Aymie Osborne had four kills and was 13-for-16 at the service line. Freshman Lindsay Brown also had two kills and was 5-for-8 at the service line.

Saturday, the team participated in the Tri City Prep Tournament, losing all three matches.

Coach Joelle Patterson said the team is hopeful to mirror their win in three games against Lyle at their home match on Sept. 15, when they face Lyle again this Tuesday.

Overall Patterson said she is pleased with the team's performance.

"They are working hard; we (have been) up against some really tough teams," she added.
