BICKLETON - With only one win in three regulation matches this season the Lady Pirates were hoping to repeat their earlier victory against Lyle at last night's home opener of the season.
At their newly remodeled gym, Coach Joelle Patterson said the gym was packed and the Lady Pirates got their wish. A win in four games brought the crowded gym and Patterson pride and joy for Lady Pirate volleyball.
The match began with two wins for Bickleton via scores of 25-19 and 25-13. Lyle struck back with a 25-23 decision. It was anybody's game when the Lady Pirates pulled out the third and deciding win, 25-12.
"My girls did really good," Patterson said.
The victory boosted Bickleton's 1B league record to 2-1, 2-2 overall.
Providing the most assists for Bickleton throughout the match was sophomore Haley Goodnight with 25. The Lady Pirate was also 5-for-6 at the service line. Sophomore Amanda McBride provided 16 assists and was 16-for-17 at the service line. Sophomore Syndie Obanion had three kills and was 17-for-17 at the service line.
