Teodoro Martinez, 77, of Grandview passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Teodoro was born Nov. 3, 1934 in Mathis, Texas, the son of Guadalupe and Concepcion (Moreno) Martinez.

At the young age of 13, Teodoro's father passed away, leaving him to be the man of the house and with the responsibility of helping his mother raise the family.

On Jan. 1, 1956 he married Gloria Marin in Eloy, Ariz.

In 1972 the Martinez family moved to Moses Lake before settling in Grandview in 1974.

Teodoro was a self-employed truck driver.

He attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview.

Teodoro enjoyed listening and dancing to his favorite music. He also loved to purchase old bikes at yard sales and fix them for his children, grandchildren and kids in the neighborhood.

He with his wife, Gloria enjoyed going to the casino to play Shrimp Mania.

Teodoro is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gloria Martinez of Grandview; two daughters, Ninfa (Israel) Martinez of Pasco and Rosalinda (Eduardo) Plata of Prosser; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Raul Martinez and Juan Martinez both of Mathis, Texas and Emilio Martinez of Edroy, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mario Moreno Martinez; and two brothers, a twin brother at birth, Doroteo Martinez and Guadalupe Martinez.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, April 13, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prosser, with burial to follow at East Prosser Cemetery.
