Carnation plant discussion open to local residents

The Port of Sunnyside is hosting a community discussion about the future of the former Carnation Plant on Monday, April 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sunnyside Community Center.

The event will be facilitated by Jim Darling and Michael Stringer of Maul Foster & Alongi with various speakers. Lyle Erlewin and Jill Shuttleworth will speak on the condition of the building, Chris Landreau about cultural and historic resources, James Peale on environmental issues, Jamey Ayling on regulations and Lee Smith on the market and economic issues.

Citizens are invited to attend and share their opinions with the port officials.
