Forensic science camp sign-ups open to area youths

First through sixth graders are being invited to take part in a forensic science camp scheduled for Saturday, May 5, at Sunnyside High School.

The science camp is a joint effort of SHS science teacher Joyce Stark and Marisol Vega, an SHS student who is helping to plan the science camp activities as part of her senior project.

Vega said all elementary school aged children are welcome to attend the 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. camp.

"There is going to be plenty of fun, treats and special detective surprises," Vega said.

Sign-up fees are set at $10 per child. Parents can register their children for the science camp by contacting Stark at 837-2601, extension 6202. Stark can also be contacted on-line at

The May 5 camp will be held in room 202 at Sunnyside High School.
