SHS parking lot rules proposal more than fair

I would like to compliment Ryan Maxwell and Wally Shearer for coming up with a proposal for parking at Sunnyside High School. I thought the proposed rules and penalties were very fair.

When I read of Sunnyside School Board Director Michelle Perry's concern over a $5 fine for a fourth infraction, I thought to myself, "you have got to be kidding!" $5 will buy the same student 1-1/2 gallons of gas for his car or one-half of a CD for his car stereo. And, this is for the fourth infraction!

If teaching students a life lesson is on the agenda of the Sunnyside School Board, $5 for a fourth parking infraction is a good place to start. Or, skip the $5 and just suspend their privilege of parking at the school, have their car towed when they park there anyway and see what that costs them.
