Bickleton School District state audit comes back clean

BICKLETON - Independent accountability audit results of the Bickleton School District came back squeaky clean.

The audit looked at the adequacy of the district's internal controls to safeguard public resources for the period of Sept. 1, 2009 through Aug. 31, 2011.

State auditor Brian Sonntag noted, "In the areas we examined, the district's internal controls were adequate to safeguard public assets. The district also complied with state laws and its own policies in the areas we examined."

Sonntag also noted the state auditor's office takes its role to advocate for government accountability and transparency seriously, and the Bickleton School District had no findings of noncompliance for the duration of the audit.
