Masons' cornerstone laying ceremony at Sunnyside High one hour later than announced

A Masonic dedication of the $31 million upgrade made to Sunnyside High School, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 18, will instead be held at 11 a.m., instead of the original 10 a.m. starting time that had previously been announced.

The dedication ceremony is open to the public.

In attendance will be Gardner M. Torrence Sr., Most Worshipful Grand Master of The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Washington & Jurisdiction, as well as Dean W. Heinemann, Most Worshipful Grand Master of Free & Accepted Masons of Washington. Together, they will jointly lay the cornerstone at the Sunnyside ceremony, signifying a dedication to excellence in education.

All Masons who plan to attend the dedication are invited to meet beforehand for a meet-and-greet, coffee and doughnuts social at the Sunnyside Masonic Center, located at 610 Harrison Ave., at 9 a.m.
