Sandra Yadira Guzman, 24, of Sunnyside went to be in the arms of her Savior on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born March 20, 1988 in Sunnyside, the daughter of Jorge and Maria T. (Verduzco) Contreras.

Sandra received her early education in Sunnyside.

In June of 2005 Sandra and Jorge Guzman were married in Sunnyside.

The Guzman family moved to Lovington, N.M., where Sandra graduated from New Hope High School with the class of 2006.

In 2006 Sandra and Jorge returned to Sunnyside, where Sandra worked as a receptionist for the Sunnyside Community Hospital.

She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside.

Sandra cherished time spent with her husband, children and family.

She loved to go shopping, watch movies and read.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Jorge Guzman of Grandview; one daughter, Anahi Guzman; one son, Adrian Guzman; her parents, Jorge and Maria Contreras of Grandview; four sisters, Yezenia (Moises) Chairez, Jasmine Contreras and Yahrie Contreras, all of Grandview ,and Maribel (Miguel) Madrigal of Sunnyside; her two grandmothers, Zenaida Torres of Mexico and Ramona Mendoza of Yakima; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, from 1 to 8 p.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
