Ballroom dance classes to start

GRANDVIEW - The Grandview Parks and Recreation Department is seeking people interested in learning ballroom dancing for a six-week ballroom dance session beginning Tuesday, Sept. 11.

The sessions will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Grandview Community Center gymnasium (812 Wallace Way).

The class will meet each Tuesday evening through Oct. 16, and will be instructed by Jim Ide.

The cost is $30 per couple ($40 for non-city residents). Individuals are encouraged to join in at half the cost. No experience is necessary to sign up. Class participants can register in advance at the parks and rec office or on site.

The class will focus on learning basic ballroom footwork, framework. and spins and turns to music from the '40s & '50s.
