Using a format of throwing out your worst three holes, Sunnyside's Carol Monholland topped the competition in the Black Rock Creek 18-hole ladies group last Tuesday, Aug. 21.
Monholland fired an eye-popping 4-over-par 76, but by eliminating the scores on her worst three holes she posted a round of 59. Monholland snared a pair of birdies enroute to shooting one of her lowest rounds of the year, those coming on the par-4 first hole and the par-3, 12th. She also tied with Sharon teVelde of Sunnyside for fewest number of putts, each needing just 27 to complete their rounds.
Second-place honors last Tuesday went to Delores Dasso and Wanda Stokes, both of Sunnyside. They each recorded a 75 after tossing out their three worst holes.
