Grandview awards banquet Feb. 19

GRANDVIEW - The Grandview Community Awards Banquet for 2012 has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 and nominations are still being accepted.

There are several awards to be presented. Nominations are being sought for the person of the year, Orrin Dybdahl Award for adults mentoring and supporting youth, volunteer of the year, president's award (selected by the Grandview Chamber of Commerce president), business of the year, outstanding police officer, outstanding firefighter, top responder, community development award, Rotarian of the year, Kiwanian of the year, high school employee of the year, high school student of the year, Compass High School employee and student of the year, Grandview Middle School employee and student of the year, and employees and students of the year for each of the three elementary schools.

Nominations must be submitted to Cookie Shannon at 1003 Vivian Dr., Grandview, WA 98930 by Friday, Jan. 11.

In addition to the name of the person being nominated, a few words about the individual and why they are being nominated will be appreciated.

The Feb. 19 banquet will be held at the Grandview Community Center.
