Estella Z. Patterson, 58, of Outlook passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012.
Estella was born Nov. 25, 1954 in Sunnyside to Manuel and Maria (Garza) Zuniga. She received her early education in the Lower Valley.
On Sept. 5, 1997 she married Billy James Patterson in Granger.
Estella was a Crisis Counselor for both the Lower Valley Crisis Center, where she was currently on the Board of Directors, and Consejo Counseling Services.
She was a devoted follower of her Savior Jesus Christ. She loved serving in her church, her dedication was limitless. She was active in woman's ministries, Sunday School teaching, cleaning and decorating the church and she was also a "Prayer Warrior" offering support to whomever needed it.
Estella also enjoyed feeding local police officers during the holidays, when she knew they would be away from their families.
Estella also liked Star Trek II "The Wrath of Khan," but loved actor Ricardo Montalban. She truly loved her family and friends and cherished the time she spent with them all.
Estella is survived by her husband, Billy James Patterson; her children, Melissa (Dave) Rodriguez, of Zillah, Maria Estella (Silvestre) Rodriguez of Edinburg, Texas, Eduardo (Mandy) Rodriguez Jr. of Hasllet, Texas, Lucinda (Wally) Rodriguez of Sunnyside and Cassandra (Seth) Rodriguez-Vance of Elgin, S.C.; her in-laws, Ben and Betty Patterson; 19 grandchildren; her siblings, Josie Hernandez, Amelia Ayala, Janie Weinert and Julie McMinimee; many other family members; and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Manuel Zuniga Jr.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church, 400 N. Ave. in Sunnyside.
