OBITUARY

RALPH PISTORESE

Ralph Pistorese, 90, of Mukilteo passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012.

Ralph Pistorese was born Aug. 14, 1922 in Cle Elum to Albert and Mary Pistorese. After graduating from high school, he attended WSU in Pullman, and joined the V12 Naval Reserve program.

He left school when called to active duty and served as a U.S. Marine Corps Infantry Officer during WWII. Returning from the service, he went on to complete his degree in education and graduated from WSU in 1947.

Ralph began teaching in the Arlington School District, but was recalled to active duty and served in the Korean Conflict in 1951. Ralph was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of captain in 1952.

Ralph and Maxine were married on June 4, 1951, in Seattle.

He returned to teaching in Arlington and eventually became the Superintendent of Schools from 1959-1967. The family then moved to Sunnyside, where Ralph was first the Assistant Superintendent of Schools, and finally the Superintendent of Schools from 1970 -1979. At that time Ralph retired.

In 1995 the family settled in Mukilteo, where Ralph and Maxine enjoyed many years golfing and enjoying their family.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Maxine; two sons, Brent (Linda) and Todd (Lee); daughter, Jan; grandchildren, Erin, Brad, Tara, Jamie, Sarah, Joe and Nick; and great- granddaughter, Bryn.

Memorial services will be held Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mukilteo Presbyterian Church, 4514 84th Street SW, Mukilteo, WA 98275.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Hospital, Mukilteo Presbyterian Church, and Fred Hutchinson's Cancer.

Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home in Seattle is in charge of arrangements.
