Beverly Lynn (Osbourn) Ross, 72, of Sunnyside passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, with family at her side at her home.

She was born Dec. 17, 1939 in Denver, Colo. to Alberta and Milford "Tex" Osbourn.

She was raised in Denver and attended South High School. Beverly accepted Jesus at age 13, and was baptized at Calvary Temple Assembly of God. At the age of 17 she moved to Sunnyside, where she spent the remainder of her life.

She married LaVerne C. Farnworth on Feb. 14, 1957. They had three children, Clint, Susan and Diane Farnworth. On April 4, 1964, she married Roy Lee Ross and this added more children, Mary, Leroy and Susan Ross. The family was completed when they had three additional children, Michael, Kathryn and Karen Ross.

She married J.C. Key on Aug. 11, 1983, they divorced, but remained friends until his death.

In 1977 she fulfilled her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. She graduated from Yakima Valley Community College with honors.

She worked at Sunnyside General Hospital and Sunnyside Community Hospital for a total of 25 years until her retirement.

She loved to knit, crochet and sew for her family.

She was an avid reader and instilled a love of reading in her children.

She did her own wallpapering, painting and woodworking and she was meticulous at it.

She was a member of the Eagles and enjoyed dancing and jam sessions.

Upon retirement, she spent time scrapbooking, traveling and visiting with her sisters. Her travels included trips through Texas and Oklahoma researching family history. She cherished time with her family, giving her children unconditional love and acceptance and taught them that every life was worthy of honor and respect.

She is survived by her children, Leroy (LaRae) Ross, LaVerne Clinton Farnworth Jr. and Susan (Tony) Bertsch, all of Sunnyside, Susan (Nick) Martinez and Diane Marquez, both of Yakima, Michael (Leslie) Ross of Portland, Ore., Kathryn (Anthony) Tate of Pasco, Karen (Ken) Jordan of Gresham, Ore.; her two sisters, Joanne (Bert) Zylstra of Mission, Kansas and Sharon (John) Brzeinski of Windsor, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father, Milford "Tex" Osbourn; her mother, Alberta Edith Hawley Osbourn; and her daughter, Mary Catherine Ross.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, with a reception to follow at the Eagles in Sunnyside.
