Sheriff's office to continue dispatch service for Mabton

YAKIMA - The Yakima County Sheriff's office will again provide police dispatching assistance for the city of Mabton in 2012. That's according to an agreement Yakima County commissioners approved yesterday, Tuesday.

The agreement means that the Sheriff's office will provide a phone line capable of switching incoming calls to the city to the Sheriff's phone system when Mabton has no dispatchers on duty.

The Sheriff's office is charging Mabton an annual rate of $17,539 for the service in 2012.
