Chelsea Mae Sheeley, 82, of Sunnyside passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, in Sunnyside.

She was born Jan. 8, 1929 in Monegaw Springs, Mo., the daughter of Oscar Charles and Gertrude (Thompson) Snyder.

She received her education in Independence, Mo., before moving to Sunnyside and graduating from Chief Kamiakin High School with the class of 1946.

On June 17, 1946 she married Bill N. Sheeley in Walla Walla.

Chelsea was a co-owner and bookkeeper for Bill Sheeley Trucking. She also worked for Western Farmers Co-op in Sunnyside for 28 years, Department of Social and Health Services for 21 years and the Sunnyside Seventh-Day Adventist Church Food Bank as a bookkeeper.

Chelsea was a people person, the more people over the better.

She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards.

Chelsea is survived by two daughters, Mary Joyce Powers of Newport and Konnie (Tony) Pritzl of Kettle Falls; one son, Bill (Jeanne) Sheeley Jr. of Sunnyside; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Ethlyn Rush of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Jerry (Yvette) Snyder of Spokane; two sisters-in-law, Lois Snyder of St. Helens, Ore. and Leola Snyder of Outlook; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; son-in-law, Jim Powers; two brothers, Oscar Snyder and Arnold Snyder.

Memorial services will be held at a later date, with inurnment to be held at Outlook Cemetery.
