RoseAnn Omta-Katte, 85, of Sequim passed away on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, of age related causes.
She was born April 6, 1926 in Granger to Derk and Augusta Oord-Omta. They moved to their Swan Road farm in Sunnyside in 1928.
She graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1944.
RoseAnn Omta worked for eight years as secretary for attorney Oscar Boose and she also was a church organist.
In 1952 she and John Katte were married and moved to Seattle, where RoseAnn was employed by the Watson Groen Christian School as a Home Economics teacher and secretary.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Katte; two sons, Dave (Nancy) Katte of Port Orchard and James Katte of Alaska; one daughter, Julia Christensen of Federal Way; one grandson, Kevin Dickey; her siblings, Richard Omta, Byron Omta, James Omta, Wilma Lightfoot, Norma Friend and Winifred VanHill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.
Private family services are to be held at a later date.
Olympic Cremation Association in Port Angeles is in charge of arrangements.
