Delores A. Martinez, 93, of Yakima passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012.

Delores was born Aug. 8, 1918 in Allende, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to David and Rita (Escamilla) Aguirre.

She was a loving wife and devoted mother and she truly loved having her family around her, she also loved her dog "Minnie."

She enjoyed gardening flowers and loved to sew and make blankets.

She cherished making tamales for her entire family and spending time with her family and friends. She loved dancing and entered contests with her loving husband, Lucio Martinez, which they would often win.

Delores is survived by her children, Irma Hernandez of Sunnyside, Juventino Martinez and Lucio Martinez Jr., both of Yakima, Guadalupe Martinez of Kennewick, Alberto (Josephina) Martinez of Bakersfield, Calif. and Yolanda M. Polo of Pasco; 36 grandchildren and 47 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lucio Martinez; seven children; two brothers and two sisters.

Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with inurnment to follow at the East Prosser Cemetery.
