Monholland top golfer in women's play

Sunnyside's Carol Monholland turned in quite the performance in Black Rock Creek 18-hole ladies play this past Tuesday.

Monholland toured the Sunnyside-area course with a 7-over-par 79, winning low gross of field honors.

She also captured "play of the day" honors from among the Flight 'A' golfers, which was longest drive per flight. Monholland, too, had the second fewest number of putts from among the field, needing just 29 putts to complete her round. Sunnyside's Marjean Laverman won the 'fewest putts' contest with 28.

The Flight 'B' and 'C' long drive winners were Sunnyside's Mary Ann Bliesner and Lucille Rohman, respectively.

Low net of field honors last Tuesday went to Connie Davis of Sunnyside, who shot a handicap-aided 67. Davis also had the lone chip-in on the day, that occurring on hole No. 3.
