Sunnyside's South Hill Road, from the area just east of the railroad tracks, will be closed to motor vehicle traffic starting tomorrow, Aug. 1.
The Sunnyside City Council last week approved the road closure, for a time period of one year, in an effort to help police curb criminal activity in that part of town.
A barricade across the roadway will be in place on Wednesday to stop vehicles from using the road. The barricade will remain up for a full year. Detour signs will be erected and left standing for about 30 days, in an effort to help motorists re-learn different routes they must take when traveling in that part of the city.
