Peeping Tom suspect now sitting in county jail

Sunnyside police this past Monday arrested Victor Manuel Nunez, 47, of Sunnyside for reportedly looking under a bathroom stall at JCPenney while a woman was using the restroom.

According to police, Nunez is at the Yakima County Jail on a requested charge of voyeurism.

"The victim stated that he looked under the bathroom stall while she was in the women's restroom," said officials.

On Tuesday, Nunez appeared in Yakima County Superior Court, and Judge Michael McCarthy ordered his bail set at $100,000. An arraignment date was set for Tuesday, June 19.

McCarthy also signed a sexual assault protection order for the victim in the case, according to court records.

Sunnyside police have since yesterday (Wednesday) also responded to six animal complaints, a citizen dispute, a report of fraudulent activity, a domestic violence call, a DUI report, a harassment complaint, four juvenile problems, a loud music call, three suspicious activity calls, seven traffic stops, three agency assistance requests and a request for a welfare check.

Officers, too, served six arrest warrants and a court order, and recovered two stolen vehicles.
