Beginning this coming Saturday, June 16, Sunnyside residents can enjoy the municipal swimming pool for the summer swimming season.
The pool will open to the public at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The last day to swim at the local pool will be Saturday, Aug. 25.
Open swimming sessions will be 1 to 3 p.m. and 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. all seven days of the week. Family swim sessions will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day with the exception of home swim meets for the Sunnyside Rotary swim team.
The daily admission price per open session is $2 for youngsters between the ages of 4 and 7, $3 for those 8 and older.
Season passes are available. A 10-session pass is available for $15 for youngsters 7 and younger, $25 for everyone 8 and older. The cost for an individual pass for the entire summer season is $55 for city residents, $68.75 for non-city residents. Family passes can be purchased at the cost of $150 for city residents, $187.50 for non-city residents.
A $25 family pass discount will be provided for those purchasing passes before this coming Saturday. Individuals purchasing passes before Saturday will be provided a $10 discount. Passes can be purchased at Sunnyside city hall.
Swimming lesson registration fees are $25 per session for residents of Sunnyside, $31.25 for those living outside the city limits.
Private swimming lessons are available at the cost of $50 for city residents, $62.50 for non-city residents.
Swimming lessons will be held in two-week sessions. Session one will be Monday through Friday, June 25-July 6; session two will begin Monday, July 9, and end Friday, July 20; the third session will be Monday, July 23, through Friday, Aug. 3; and the final session will be held Monday through Friday, Aug. 6-17.
Each day of the week from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m. the Sunnyside pool is available for evening rentals. On Saturdays and Sundays the pool can be rented between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
