Summer camp planned for local youngsters at Sunnyside Community Cente

A summer camp for Sunnyside youths entering sixth, seventh and eighth grades is planned for Monday, June 25, through Thursday, July 19.

The free camp, sponsored by Northwest Community Action Center's 21st Century program and Sunnyside's Promise, will run Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. during those four weeks. It is open to any student attending school in Sunnyside, including Sunnyside Christian Elementary School.

Lunch will be provided at the camp.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. next Monday, June 25.

Students will complete projects focused on energy, health and nutrition, team building and relationship building activities, arts and crafts and community service. Field trips will also be included in the camp experience.

The camp is limited to the first 80 youngsters registered.
