Grover McDaniel, 85, of Yakima and a former Sunnyside resident, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at Apple Creek Assisted Living in Yakima.

He was born July 29, 1926 in Selmer, Tennessee.

He married Marjorie McDaniel in 1945 in Clintonville, Wis. They had six children together, five sons and a daughter.

Grover worked for many years at the Van de Graaf and Monson feedlots in Sunnyside.

When he retired he moved to Yakima.

He is survived by Marjorie McDaniel of Sunnyside; one daughter, Wendy (Raul) Casas; three sons, Steven (Carol) of Spokane, Lee (Beverly) of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and Dennis (Sonja) of Sunnyside; one grandson, Brandon Casas; three granddaughters, Michelle Wedekind, Melanie Roots and Cyrena Lehman; four great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.

At the request of Mr. McDaniel, there will be no services held.

Shaw and Sons Funeral Home in Yakima is in charge of arrangements.
