Yolanda R. Cantu, 61, of Grandview passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012, in Richland.

Yolanda was born Sept. 9, 1950 in Mission, Texas, the daughter of Blas and Felipa (Rodriguez) Cantu Sr.

She received her education in Grandview and graduated with the class of 1970.

Yolanda worked as an administrative assistant for more than 33 years at Hanford.

She was a lady who lived life to the fullest, each day was an adventure.

Yolanda loved the outdoors, gardening, traveling, snow skiing, golfing, riding motorcycles and even had the courage to parachute.

She also was a person who made a difference for others, dedicating many hours to raising funds for Relay for Life.

Yolanda is survived by her three brothers, Jesus (Ramona) Rodriguez, Oscar Rodriguez and Blas (Connie) Cantu Jr., all of Grandview; three sisters, Irma (Jose Luis) Mata of Modesto, Calif., Sonia Cantu of St. Louis, Mo. and Rebecca "Becky" Cantu of Grandview; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Blas Cantu Sr. and Felipa Cantu.

Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012, from 3 to 8 p.m. with a service at 4:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside.
