West Nile virus vaccine clinic for horses, mules being offered in Grandview week from this Saturday

GRANDVIEW - The Wine Country Riders will be hosting a West Nile virus vaccine clinic for horses and mules on Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to noon at the fairgrounds in Grandview.

Dr. Ernie Munck, D.V.M., will be administering the vaccines.

Fees for the West Nile virus immunizations will range from $25 to $48 each, depending on the combination of doses requested by horse owners, who may either have the vaccines administered on site or take them home and administer them later on their animals.

Also available for purchase on March 24 will be a six-month Health Certificate/Coggins Test combo. The animal must be present at the clinic to receive the combo.

New this year will be the availability of a brand inspector. Horse owners are asked to bring any paperwork and registration to prove ownership.

The Wine Country Riders are a chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of Washington and $2 from every dose purchased on March 24 will benefit the local group.
