Area volunteers being recognized during national volunteer month

In honor of volunteers, the month of April is deemed 'volunteer month'.

To celebrate local do-gooders, area residents are invited to see what Lower Valley Volunteer Chore Services is all about.

The area's volunteers will put on display their labors of love Friday, April 13, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bon Vino's in Sunnyside.

Volunteer Chore Services provides basic in-home assistance to low-income elders and adults with disabilities to help them continue living independently, safely and with dignity in their own homes.

In addition to displaying volunteers' work, volunteer-made items such as hand-turned wooden bowls will be on sale to raise funds for the organization during the reception on Friday, April 13.

The displays, however, will remain up for viewing April 13-30, at Bon Vino's Bistro and Bakery, located at 112 N. 16th Street.
