Library cards replacement fee now set at $2

GRANDVIEW - Grandview Librarian Elizabeth Jahnke Tuesday gained approval from the city council for assessing a $2 replacement fee for library cards.

She told the council members she reviewed policies of libraries of similar size before coming up with the fee.

Also approved were changes to the Grandview Municipal Code that reflect current practices at the library.

For instance, there will no longer be cards issued to entire families. Instead, each individual will be issued their own library card.

Those wanting photocopies will no longer be assessed additional charges for graphics. A flat 15 cents per copy will be charged.

The council approved the recommended changes and fees by a 6-0 vote.
