Donald K. Coleman, 77, of Sunnyside passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

Donald was born Oct. 25, 1934 in Harden, Mo. to Raymond and Mary (Helen) Coleman.

At the age of 13, Donald and his family moved to Sunnyside, where he received his education.

He joined the U.S. Marines in April 1952 and served in the military until April 1955. After his military service Donald returned to the Yakima Valley, where he was self- employed as a truck driver, he also worked for a time with Cobb Livestock and Western Pack. He was forced into an early retirement because of health issues.

Donald was a member of the Sunnyside VFW and enjoyed camping, fishing, yard work and gardening.

Donald is survived by his sister, Maxine (Don) Robertson of Sunnyside; sister-in-law, Nita Coleman of Sunnyside; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Raymond Coleman and Mary H. Coleman-Reynolds; three brothers, Ken Coleman, Ralph Coleman and Raymond Coleman; one sister, Evelyn Fraser; and one niece, Cherie Robertson.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
