Two men sentenced in Sunnyside-area robbery

YAKIMA - Juan Carlos Sanchez and Daniel Arredondo were both sentenced in Yakima County Superior Court on Tuesday for a robbery near Sunnyside on Dec. 18, 2010.

The Yakima County clerk's office confirmed this morning, Thursday, that Arredondo was sentenced to 61 months in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree robbery and a firearms violation.

The clerk's office also confirmed Sanchez was sentenced to 63 months in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree robbery.

The sentencing was the result of a robbery that took place on Dec. 18, 2010 at 980 Rouse Road, the clerk's office said.

According to a Sheriff's office report at the time, the incident involved a man robbed at gunpoint in his driveway who had his driver's license and insurance card stolen after he could produce no cash.
