Carol Monholland bested the field in Black Rock Creek Golf Course ladies play yesterday (Tuesday).
The format for the competition was T&F, in which the golfers only counted their scores on holes beginning with the letters T and F. Those holes included two, three, four and five on the front nine; and holes ten, twelve, thirteen, fourteen and fifteen on the back side.
Monholland shot a 7-over-par 43 on the nine selected holes to post the low individual round. The second and third low scorers yesterday were Sharon teVelde and Delores Dasso with rounds of 51 and 53, respectively.
Recording chip-in shots in ladies golf play Tuesday were Dasso and Lucille Rohman. Dasso chipped her ball into the cup from off the green on No. 8, while Rohman accomplished the same feat on No. 7.
In the "Count Putts" side game yesterday, teVelde only needed 29 putts to make her way around the 18-hole course. Monholland and Wanda Stokes had the next fewest putts, 31 apiece.
Black Rock Creek's 18-hole ladies group will hold two more club competitions on the next two Tuesdays, but on Tuesday, June 5, will host a special guest day, in which up to 70 golfers from throughout the Yakima Valley are expected to show up and play.
