PROSSER - The 2012 Washington State Cherry Field Day is set for Monday, June 4, in Prosser.
The event will begin at noon with a barbecue lunch in the picnic area of the WSU irrigated agriculture research extension center.
The program will consist of a tour of the WSU Roza experimental orchards.
Discussions will focus on the Washington-Oregon cherry breeding program updates, a demonstration of shake-and-catch harvest technology, upright fruiting offshoots plantings and training systems, observations from the Michigan State University rootstock trial, a demonstration of a labor monitoring system and a solid-set canopy delivery system demonstration.
The field day will conclude with orchard tours.
