Dunbar silent auction successful

Saturday, May 19, the Bronze Society held a silent auction to raise money for site construction of the life-sized statue of Bonnie Dunbar at Fifth Street and Franklin Avenue.

It was a magical night of about 90 people supporting public art in Sunnyside. Bonnie Dunbar was present to meet and greet the guests. Music by the Flat Possum Bluegrass music ensemble was perfect for the evening. There was enough variety of fantastic silent auction items ranging from a horse drawn hunting gig to antique gold tie clasp and cuff generate funding for the setting of the statue.

Hors d'oeuvres were created and served by the Episcopal Church Women and especially labeled "Bonnie Dunbar" wine was served.

We thank everyone who attended and made the evening not only a social success, but a financial one as well.
