Francis Arthur Janshen Sr, 91, of Benton City, entered into rest on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Prestige Nursing Home in Sunnyside.

He was born Nov. 26, 1920 in Broadview, Mont. to Anneus C. and Anna (Schomhaven) Janshen

The family moved to Granger, where he attended school. While in the Yakima Valley, he met Dorothy Campbell and they were married on Nov. 28, 1941, in Lewiston, Idaho. They made their homes on farms on the Roza and in the Satus area.

Francis was a self-employed truck driver until he retired in 1987.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, snow mobiling and Sunday drives.

Over the years, he lived in Wapato, Sunnyside, Grandview, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and the last three years in Benton City.

Francis is survived by his children, Francis Jr. (Kathy) of Grandview, Jack (Peggy) of Pasco, Dale of Benton City, and twins, Norman (Connie) of Pasco and Norma Dye of Yakima; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; two brothers; and four sisters.

Private family services will be held.
