SHS swimmer makes 'B' finals in two events at State

FEDERAL WAY - Sunnyside High School was represented by sophomore Cassadie Moore at the 2012 3A State Swim Championships.

Moore competed in two events, the 200-yard individual medley and the 200-yard breaststroke.

In the medley, Moore was seeded 18th coming into the meet with a time of 2:16.89. In the preliminary round she improved to 16th place with a clocking of 2:16.71, and made the B finals.

Moore again improved her speed in the finals, ending up with 14th place honors with a time of 2:16.46. The winner of the event was Kim Williams of Bellevue, who clocked 2:01.20, besting the meet record.

Moore was seeded sixth in the beaststroke but finished in 10th place in the preliminaries with a time of 1:09.19, which relegated her to the B finals. She finished with 13th place honors and a clocking of 1:09.09.

The winner of the event was again Williams, who finished in 1:03.49.
