New building starts in Sunnyside continue to be on the upswing as during the month of September, officials here gave the green-light for 30 new projects with a combined valuation of $957,894.
The nearly $1 million in new building starts was paced by two large projects. One was a new, single-family home at Aho's Harvest Village development. The two-story, 2,364 square-foot home, at 1301 Grape Lane, has a valuation of $249,286. It generated $3,030 in permit fees for the city of Sunnyside.
The single largest project approved last month was to rebuild an eight-plex multi-family development on an existing foundation. That $576,275 project is at 910 E. Harrison Ave. and the permit lists Integrity Restoration of Zillah as the contractor.
Sunnyside city coffers netted $5,943 in fees for the eight-plex rebuild.
Also in September, building officials gave the okay for seven re-roof projects with a combined valuation of nearly $26,000.
The 30 projects permitted last month provided a combined total of $14,560 in permit fees for the city of Sunnyside.
