Lady Grizzlies earn tie with Davis

MOSES LAKE - The Sunnyside Lady Grizzlies swim team splashed up against Moses Lake yesterday, also tallying scores against Eisenhower and Davis high schools at the meet.

The outnumbered Lady Grizzlies again were led by standout Cassadie Moore, who took first place honors in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley.

Moore's time of 1:12.74 in the breaststroke led the pack by almost six seconds. Moses Lake's Joelle Garrett clocked in second with a time of 1:18.63.

Moore's margin of victory was even better in the individual medley, clocking in at 2:21.68, almost nine seconds faster than Moses Lake's Megan Washburn (2:30.15).

The final score between the two teams was 133-42 in Moses Lake's favor.

During the meet, Sunnyside also took the opportunity to tally scores against Eisenhower and Davis high schools.

Sunnyside and Davis tied each other with a 73-73 score. Sunnyside won every race they competed in, but Davis had numbers on their side.

Sunnyside put up a strong performance against Eisenhower, winning six of the 10 races they participated in, but were overwhelmed by the number of Ike swimmers. Eisenhower won the match-up 107-61.
