WENATCHEE - The Lady Grizzly volleyball team garnered one win in four tries last Saturday during the Wenatchee Invite.
"It's an awful fun tourney, the girls enjoy it," said Sunnyside Coach Sandy Jaquish. "It was a good experience for us."
Playing in non-regulation mini-matches, Sunnyside lost to Edmonds 25-15, 25-13 and to Richland 25-14, 25-12.
Sunnyside's highlight was in the third match, a 25-23, 25-14 win over the Wenatchee JV squad.
The Lady Grizzlies ended play with a 25-11, 25-14 loss to the Wenatchee varsity.
Amber Cornwell was 13-of-14 serving for Sunnyside with three aces. She also collected 12 digs and dished out 15 assists.
Sunnyside also got a boost from Madi Marquez (19-of-23 serving, two aces, five kills, eight digs) and Andie Graham (10-of-13, four aces, five kills, four digs).
Kendall Platsman (11 blocks), Vanessa Alvarez (four kills, six digs), Lydia Robert (12-of-12 serving) and Geordan Skyles (nine digs) also contributed for the Lady Grizzlies.
Sunnyside plays at Ike tomorrow, Tuesday.
