Mabton finishes season with a loss

ZILLAH - In its final match of the season, the Mabton Lady Vikings were taken down by the Zillah Leopards in three sets, 25-13, 25-5, 25-8.

"Zillah is in the top of our league for a reason. They are tough," said Mabton Coach Crystal Garcia. "We are in a very strong league and next year I believe Mabton will be more competitive. We're young but with one more year under our belt, I think continuing with hard work and effort, these girls have a chance to get some wins."

Mabton won only a single match this season, finishing with a 1-13 league record and 1-14 overall. But Garcia is optimistic about the future.

"I love how a few of the girls are already looking forward to next season and asking what they can do during the off-season to help improve their game," she said.
