Tobias Ibarra, 79, of Sunnyside went to be in the arms of his Savior on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012.

Tobias was born Feb. 20, 1933 in Aguililla, Michoacán, Mexico, the son of Tobias and Aurelia (Rivera) Ibarra.

He received his education in Mexico.

On Nov. 22, 1952 he married Genoveva Manzo in Coalcoman, Michoacán, Mexico.

Tobias enjoyed playing bingo, dominos, pool and going to the casino.

He loved working in his yard, planting trees and flowers. Tobias spent many hours riding and caring for his horses.

He is survived by his wife, Genoveva Manzo of Sunnyside; children, Ismael (Maria) Ibarra, Genoveva Ibarra and Trinidad Mendoza, all of Sunnyside, Tobias (Yolanda) Ibarra of Apple Valley, Calif., Amador (Sonia) Ibarra of South Gate, Calif., Manuel (Modesta) Ibarra of San Bernardino, Calif., Marcial (Carmen) Ibarra of Hesperia, Calif., Maria de Jesus Ibarra of Pasco and Guadalupe (Jose) Ibarra of Palmdale, Calif.; 47 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his four sisters; and three brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial was held today, Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
