Juan A. Tolento Escobar, 79, of Sunnyside died on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, in Sunnyside.

He was born April 27, 1933 in Mexico.

He is survived by his wife, Gabina Escobar of Sunnyside; sons, Jose Hernandez of Sunnyside, Manuel Escobar, Jesus Escobar, Antonio Escobar and Lorenzo Escobar, all of Mexico, Ramon Hernandez and Martin Escobar, both of Delano, Calif.; daughters, Maricela Escobar, Zenaida Escobar and Reyna Escobar, all of Sunnyside, Rita Escobar of Condon, Ore. and Azuezena Escobar of San Jose, Calif.; one brother, Salvador Escobar of Mexico; one sister, Epinema Escobar of Mexico; 54 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held tomorrow, Sept. 11, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
