OBITUARY

YVONNE BENTLEY

Yvonne "Eva" Bentley, 95, of Grandview passed away on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, in Prosser.

Eva was born July 20, 1917 in Terre Haute, Ind., the daughter of John and Rosalie (Bouteleux) Fauvergue. In 1924 Eva moved with her parents, brother and twin sister to Grandview. She attended Belma Grade School and graduated from Grandview High School in 1936.

On Nov. 27, 1938 she married Francis "Bob" Bentley in Bickleton. After several moves, which included California, Alaska, Yakima and Mercer Island, they settled in Grandview.

Eva and Bob celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1998, a few months before Bob passed away in June of 1999.

Eva owned two beauty salons in Grandview and one in Yakima before her retirement.

Eva loved people, especially her family, friends and each customer that came into her beauty salons.

She was an excellent cook and hosted many family dinners. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting and a good game of pinochle.

Eva is survived by her two sons, Don and Ann Bentley and Ted Bentley, all of Grandview; six grandchildren, Jeff, Russ (Samantha), Lonne, Lee (Cindy), Lennie and Christine; 13 great-grandchildren, Kiley, Keely, Jaxxon, Mavryk, Mylee, Josh, Jessica, Jacob, Ashlee, Brett, Jeremy, Christopher and Cameron; and four great-great- grandchildren, Elijah, Cooper, Landon and Hailey; her twin sister, Blanche Spearin of Lebanon, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; and brother, George Fauvergue.

Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Grandview. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grandview, with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lower Valley Hospice.
