Lady Greyhounds can't catch Pullman High athletes in pool

PROSSER - Lady 'Hound swimmers tried as they might to catch their opponents, but eventually lost last Saturday's swim meet against Pullman, 135-30.

Bright spots on the day for Grandview began with the 200-yard medley relay. The foursome of Samanta Castaneda, Reagan Colson, Samantha Bailes and Zulema Valencia notched third place honors, finishing the race in 2:35.32.

Valencia, Colson, Castaneda and Josie Trevino also tagged the end of the pool third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 2:27.85.

Castaneda also tagged the end of the pool for third place honors in the 100-yard backstroke race in 1:23.59.

Colson earned third place honors in the 100-yard breaststroke race with a time of 1:33.64.

Grandview swimmers Viannei Perez and Cali Castilleja earned third and fourth place honors in the 100-yard 'fly with times of 1:30.63 and 1:59.39, respectively.

The Grandview Lady 'Hound swim team next competes against West Valley, tomorrow (Tuesday) in Prosser.
