Junior bowling sign-ups set for Saturday

A special sign-up day has been arranged for youngsters who want to take part in the Junior Bowling League at Sunnyside's Valley Lanes this season.

League play for the junior bowlers, for those old enough to toss a ball down the lanes to youngsters in high school, is held each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The league officially gets underway on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Parents are being encouraged to sign up their children for the weekly competitions this coming Saturday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Valley Lanes. Those parents unable to attend the special registration session this coming Saturday can sign up their children for league play between now and Oct. 6 by calling Valley Lanes at 836-0023 or 839-6103.

In addition to getting to compete on a weekly basis, junior league bowlers are provided professional instructions by the staff at Valley Lanes, which includes the facility's owner and PBA member Rob Rice.
