GRANDVIEW - In its CWAC league opener last night, Tuesday, the Grandview Lady Greyhound volleyball team made short work of visiting Wapato with a three-game sweep; 25-12, 25-15, 25-17.
"We did a pretty good job tonight," said Grandview Coach John LaFever. "I think we had more experience than they did."
Payton Parrish led Grandview with nine kills, six digs, 10 assists and two aces. Teammate Taylor Hall dominated at the net with 10 kills, while providing defensive support with six digs.
Evann Swearingen dished out a team-high 11 assists for Grandview to go with six digs. The Lady Greyhounds also received a boost from Kaysie Kollmar with six kills and four digs.
Grandview, with its 1-0 league record and now riding a five-match winning streak, will face a tougher CWAC opponent tomorrow night, Thursday, when it travels to Ellensburg.
"They're quite a bit taller, so we'll have to control the ball better and serve better," said LaFever.
