Antonio Magaña, 63, a Sunnyside resident, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013.

Antonio was born Nov. 5, 1949 in Jalisco, Mexico to Antonio and Lucia (Aguilar) Magaña. Antonio received his early education in Mexico.

In 1968 he married Alicia Sanchez-Garcia in Michoacan, Mexico.

Antonio worked as a laborer in agriculture for many years.

He enjoyed working in his garden, fishing, spending time outdoors, soccer and he cherished the time he could spend with his beloved family and friends.

Antonio is survived by his wife, Alicia Magana of Sunnyside; his children, Silvia Sandoval, Juan Manuel Magana, Armando Magana and Antonio Magana Jr., Cesar Magana and Marlene Magana, all of Sunnyside, Lorena Magana and Maria Magana, both of Benton City, Sandra Magana of Grandview and Omar Magana of Pasco; 35 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Alfredo Magaña, Rosendo Magaña, Elvira Magaña, Ester Ornelas and Victoria Magaña.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Lucia Magaña; brother, Custodio Aguilar; sister, Amparo Magaña; and granddaughter, Christina Magaña.

Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, April 14, 2013, from 1 to 8 p.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
