Sunnyside leaders urged to attend free tour of Broetje Orchards

A free tour, providing Sunnyside business and community leaders an opportunity to see how servant leadership and other concepts being shared work in the business world is being offered on Thursday, May 9.

Sunnyside Transformation Yakima Valley is sponsoring the tour with the support of the Best Western Grapevine Inn.

Broetje Orchards has become one of the largest privately owned and operated orchards in the country. The company's owners, Ralph and Cheryl Broetje, believe in service to others and have used profits to develop several ministries.

Roberto Matus is the director of Sunnyside Transformation Yakima Valley. He said the tour of the orchard will provide leaders in Sunnyside an opportunity to see how businesses can grow to be successful when they develop a servant-leadership role in the community.

Sunnyside Transformation Yakima Valley has been busy sharing the concepts utilized at Broetje Orchards, but Matus said he believes it is beneficial for community leaders to see those concepts in action.

He said lunch, refreshments and transportation will be provided during the free tour.

Those taking advantage of the opportunity will meet at Sunnyside's Best Western Grapevine Inn on May 9 at 8:30 a.m. and will return at 4:30 p.m.

Because there are a limited number of spaces available, Matus urges those interested in participating in the tour to call 836-0115 or email to reserve a space.
