PROSSER - Glitz, shine and sparkles...all that and more will be on display at the fifth annual Gary O's Car & Bike Show at Prosser's VFW Post 3207. The yearly event keeps getting bigger and better, as more vintage cars and motorcycles - as well as larger crowds - turn out for what is becoming one of the more popular summer events in the Lower Valley area. This year's car and bike show is slated for Saturday, Aug. 24. The fun begins at 10 a.m. There is no admission fee for the general public to peruse the many vehicles that will be on display. Car and motorcycle buffs interested in vying for trophies at this year's show can begin registering for the event now (509-786-1941). The $20 sign-up fee qualifies each entrant to be in the running for one of the many trophies that will be awarded, and ensures they will receive a goodie bag and be eligible to win one of the door prizes that will be given away. The sponsors of the event - Prosser VFW Post 3207, its auxiliary, Am-Vets Post 99 and its auxiliary - will be selling raffle tickets during the Aug. 24 show. Event organizers will also have luncheon fare, burgers and dogs, available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day. The VFW post grounds will be opened to the public at 10 a.m. on Aug. 24. Judging of the entries will commence at 1:30 p.m., with a trophy presentation ceremony scheduled for 2 p.m. Raffle drawings will follow.
