Police on lookout for egg throwing vandals

For the second time in two days vandals have damaged property with eggs, according to the Sunnyside police report.

Police responded yesterday (Wednesday) to a report of an egging in the 1400 block of South Eighth Street. Witnesses reported seeing a suspicious looking blue Blazer-type vehicle speeding away from the area just after the egging occurred.

Police also investigated a similar incident of egg throwing vandalism reported from the 700 block of East Harrison Avenue on Tuesday. According to the report, a resident awoke to find eggs had been thrown at his house.

The police have been unable to locate suspects at this time. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to call 836-6200.

In other activity during the past 24 hours, the police investigated a report of fireworks in 100 block of Olive Way. A resident reported hearing a loud explosion, which shook his house. Other witnesses reported seeing a large starburst explosion in the sky, which appeared to be near the Grandview Avenue area. Police checked both areas and were unable to find any debris.

Officers made four traffic stops during the past 24 hours, responded to two animal complaints, investigated two business alarms, two reports of harassment and two reports of suspicious circumstances. Police also provided two agency assists, served one arrest warrant, gave one citizen assist and made two welfare checks.
